    Employment Discrimination

According to the Employment Equality Regulations Act-1999, in a workplace, employees should be treated fairly with respect so as not to cause any loss to their dignity and honesty.

Employment discrimination is legally wrong, which arises when a person or group is treated less favorably than other people for reasons related to their age, disability, gender, marriage, or even marital status. In 2002 new protections were put in place under the Equality Act that prohibited employment discrimination based on race and previously explicitly stated, such as sex.

    Types of employment discrimination

The Fair Employment Practices Agencies (FEPA) is the rate of employment discrimination in the United States. According to the FEPA, two types of discrimination exist Explicit Discrimination and Implicit Discrimination. Explicit discrimination is when an individual’s race, sex, age, religion/creed, disability status or sexual orientation are targeted because they belong to one of these categories. Implicit discrimination is when other factors contribute to unfair treatment or inferior treatment without regard for different characteristics like race/sex/etc.

Why is there a need for a lawyer in the workspace?

The people who work for you can be, well, a nightmare to deal with. It’s happened to the best of us: you’ve been out of the office for weeks on end, and when you get back, there is someone new in your position. Or maybe it’s not that they’re new; maybe more people have been hired, and there is more competition for your job than ever before. Regardless of whether or not it’s true, you probably feel like the rug has been pulled out from under you, and your career is in serious jeopardy without any notice or warning.

In reality, all this uncertainty is enough to make anyone feel awful. You don’t know whether you’ll have your job the next day or the next month, and without a lawyer, you can’t do much to ensure that you’re going to stay in the building.

Employment Discrimination Lawyers in New York are there for everyone in their dire situations. Of course, there is a way out of this dilemma. You can contact an employment discrimination law firm in your area that handles these types of cases for individuals across the country. The knowledgeable lawyers at these firms who work with employers and employees alike have seen it all before.
