As the capital of the great Canadian province of Ontario, Toronto is a large historic city that promises, and delivers, plenty of culture and things to do.

It’s a city of almost three million people, and the United Nations has formally named Toronto the most culturally diverse city in the world. It contains so many kinds of people from many other countries that you simply can’t be bored of things to do, places to visit, and multicultural information to take in while you’re in Toronto.

When you’re flipping through the homes for sale in Toronto and trying to figure out how you and your family can best settle in, you’re probably wondering what kinds of activities you can participate in once you move.

Don’t worry: there’s more than enough. Here are just three of the numerous awesome things to do when you live in Toronto.

    Royal Ontario Museum

Everybody loves a museum. It doesn’t matter if it’s a rainy day or not, spending hours and hours inside a quiet building to learn something is a lot of fun, and nowhere is that truer than at the Royal Ontario Museum.

The museum boasts more than 36 galleries of items relating to science, art, and natural history. You can learn about Rembrandt in one gallery and dinosaur fossils in another. From Egyptian mummies to artifacts from ancient Japan, the Royal Ontario Museum can rightly be called an absolute center of history, culture, and learning in Ontario.

And you can’t possibly see it in a day, so this place actually gives you weeks of things to do!

    CN Tower

Another cool thing to check out in Toronto: have you ever seen that gigantic tower in the Toronto skyline? That’s the CN Tower, a communications structure and observation building that was once the tallest skyscraper in the world.

You can actually go up to the top of the 1,800-foot behemoth and look out upon the whole of Toronto. That’s sure to give you a thrill unlike much else. Maybe not recommended for those with height phobias!

While there, visit the 360 Restaurant, the Glass Floor, Sky Terrace, and Edgewalk, which harnesses you in and lets you walk along the top of the tower. Not for the faint of heart, but what a thrill!

    Niagara Falls

Is there much more that’s truly “Canadian” than visiting Niagara Falls? Sure, you can see the falls from New York, as well, but in Canada, you can check out parts of Horseshoe Falls, the largest falls of them all.

If you’re visiting Niagara Falls from Toronto, you just have to take the boat tour to get up close to the water. Obviously, bring a poncho and be prepared to get soaked to the bone. But it’s all worth it. The experience as a whole is unlike anything else. The sounds and view of it all is enough to make you feel truly humbled by nature’s power.

There’s more than enough to do in Toronto beyond this list. So when you move there, rest assured: you’ll never be bored. In fact, you’ll probably always be excited about living where you live!
