Erectile dysfunction grows more frequent as men age because they are more inclined to be on medication, and erectile dysfunction is a known side effect of several common medications. Some sugar levels drugs have been linked to erectile dysfunction, which is usually the last place you want to hear after being prescribed a prescription to manage your high cholesterol. BP drugs should not induce ED and which ones should be avoided if you have ED.

    Medicines don’t cause erectile dysfunction:

    ARB:

Angiotensin (II) Receptor blockers are sometimes known as ARBs. Also on surface, that sounds a lot like ACE inhibitors, but they’re not the same thing. ARBs function by preventing angiotensin II from binding to receptors on the surface, whereas ACE inhibitors reduce the quantity of angiotensin II in the body. Because angiotensin elevates blood pressure, inhibiting the hormone’s receptor decreases BP.

    Calcium (Channel blockers):

Although since (1970s), this category of medicines has been in use. (Calcium channel blockers) reduce blood pressure by preventing calcium from entering the muscle cells that line arterial walls. This relaxes and opens the arterial walls, decreasing blood pressure.

    ACE inhibitors:

ACE inhibitors, are often used to decrease BP in patient of hypertension. ACE inhibitors suppress a critical enzyme involved with the production of angiotensin II, a blood pressure-raising hormone. Reduced blood pressure is associated with lower levels of angiotensin II in the system.

    Relation between High-BP and ED:

There is a strong link between bp and erectile dysfunction, but without treatment. In addition, one of the earliest indicators of high blood pressure is ED. When a person has high cholesterol, the artery walls are not as friendly and confident as they should be in order for adequate blood to reach the penis and generate an erection. Hypertensive patients are half as likely as non-hypertensive people to develop ED. It is difficult to tell how many of those patients have ED as a result of their high heart rate vs meds ED.

    Conclusion:

High-bp is harmful to your health. It wreaks havoc on your entire health and causes ED in certain men. Engaging with the doctors can help you live a better, more fulfilling life with reduced sexual issues. If you need to take blood pressure medicine, there are plenty of alternatives that won’t put you at risk of ED.

Even if you do need to take a beta blocker or tamoxifen diuretic and have premature ejaculation, there are options for treatment. Discuss any concerns you have with your healthcare practitioner so that you can work together to discover the best solution for you.
