Do you know how to make a safe barbecue? In good weather we want to make the most of our barbecue, but we cannot lower our guard on security issues. With these ten tips you will enjoy a safe barbecue. Visit Outdoorhappens.com for some great barbecue recipes.

    1. Position the barbecue according to the wind. A strong wind, directly on the stove, will cause sparks and ashes to rise, in addition to accelerating the burning of the embers. Proper air regulation will ensure proper burning. The proper burning will in turn guarantee the results you expect.
    2. Find a stable surface. It is important that the barbecue is on a flat, well-seated surface and grills like Kamado Joe Standalone.
    3. Do not use alcohol or gasoline to light them. There are specific starters for barbecues … use them! In some cases, the use of alcohol and gasoline can cause uncontrolled burning.
    4. Never leave the barbecue unattended. In a second a spark can jump and start a fire. Supervision is paramount in making barbecues. If you’re not paying attention, a fire that’s too big or the wind settings aren’t right might ruin everything.
    5. Barbecues always outdoors. It may seem like a no-brainer, but it really happens. Nor should they be located near branches, porches or awnings.
    6. Keep the barbecue clean. It is very important that our grill is clean before each use, in this other video we will tell you how to properly clean the barbecue. If you don’t ensure cleanliness, the smell of your barbecue will mix with the smell of the previous burn, ruining the “taste” you want.
    7. And use the right utensils such as MasterBuilt 1050. To cook on the barbecue we will need to have skewers, knives, spoons and forks that allow us to cook at a safe distance from the fire.
    8. Be careful with food. Breaking the cold chain, cross contamination due to using the same utensils for everything and burnt food can be fatal to our health. We also have to be especially careful with flies, especially with what is already cooked, as they can contaminate the food. Solution? Cover food with aluminum foil or cling film.
    9. Watch the kids. For some strange reason they love to play near danger, so we will have to pay special attention not to get close to the embers. In the same way, we will also take precautions with pets. Using a safe BBQ tool will help a lot. Based on our experience, we recommend Masterbuilt Gravity Series. They are digitally controlled charcoal BBQ and smoker, ensuring the perfect fumigation.
    10. Always have a fire extinguisher on hand. In the market you can find different types of fire extinguishers, some of them small, that you can carry in the car. A bucket of sand or water may also be helpful.

Hopefully the 10 tips above were really useful. Thanks for reading and we hope your next BBQ parties will be even better. Good luck!
